Terms of Service and Rules
The providers ("we", "us", "our") of the service provided by this web site ("Service") are not responsible for any user-generated content and accounts ("Content"). Content submitted express the views of their author only.
We reserve the rights to remove or modify any Content for any reason without explanation. We reserve the right to take action against any account with the Service at any time.
These terms may be changed at any time without notice.
1. Trolling: I will not taunt, insult, threaten, belittle, or patronize another member. I am not here to hijack threads and boss others around. I understand that the Psychopath Free staff members deal with trolls more seriously than other websites—the administrators have and will contact the police to keep the forum safe from trolls. (More information)
2. Advertising: I will not join Psychopath Free for the sole purpose of advertising my blog or website. After several weeks of posting, survivors are more than welcome to share helpful resources. But joining and immediately posting self-promoting links will result in account deactivation. (More information)
3. Personal Information: I will not share any personally identifying information about the psychopath in my life. This includes videos, pictures, links, and names. I also agree not to share or discuss Cheater websites dedicated to exposing psychopaths. I understand that Psychopath Free is about recovery, not exposure & revenge. I also understand that this is a public forum, indexed on Google, and so I should practice discretion when it comes to sharing my own personal information. (More information)
4. Self-Proclaimed Pathologies: I understand that this website is intended only for survivors of psychopathic abuse. Psychopath Free is not a discussion forum for psychopaths, narcissists, sociopaths, borderlines, or any other pathological individuals. Self-proclaimed Cluster-B personalities will be banned immediately. I also agree not to share resources authored or operated by people with personality disorders.
5. Plagiarism: When posting external links, I will cite any content that I did not create. I will provide links to the original author's website, wherever applicable. If I cannot find a source for my content, I will contact an administrator before posting it. I also understand that all original content on Psychopath Free is copyright protected. This includes articles, book chapters, Facebook posts, forum threads, and private messages. I acknowledge that legal action will be taken to protect this copyright. (Please feel free to share our content anywhere, just remember to include a link!)
6. Graphic Content: I will not post graphic sexual or violent content. This includes images, text, avatars, links, and videos. Although relationship abuse often includes sexual abuse, detailed descriptions of this abuse will be removed from the forum to prevent triggering other members and sketchy Google search keywords. Repeated offenses will result in a warning or banning. (More information)
7. Legal Acknowledgment: I understand that Psychopath Free is not a substitute for professional counseling or legal services. I am aware that the authors, staff, and members of Psychopath Free are not certified mental health professionals (the PF team highly recommends professional therapy to work through emotional abuse!). I also agree not to discuss suicide or self-harm on this website. (More information)
8. Victim Blaming: I will not engage in any form of victim blaming or perpetrator sympathizing. This includes comments like, "it takes two to tango" or "we're partly to blame for the abuse" or "stop calling people psychopaths". I'm not here to preach or tell others how to heal. I will not call others "co-dependent". I will speak for myself, instead of attempting to speak for all survivors. (More information)
9. Proxies & Multiple Identities: If I want to change my username, I will simply Contact The Team and make this request. I will not register multiple user accounts, and I will not re-register after being banned. Both accounts will be banned immediately, as will all subsequent attempts. I will not use a proxy IP or anonymous browser to access Psychopath Free. I understand that the administrators have and will submit legal requests to obtain IP information from proxy services to prevent ban evasion and repeated abuse. (If you don't know what a proxy is, then you have nothing to worry about!)
10. Respect: I will always respect my fellow members and staff team. I understand that these people volunteer their time and energy into making Psychopath Free safe, validating, and pleasant for everyone. I will not be condescending or rude when I disagree with someone. I will not publicly accuse other members of being disordered. Instead, I will express those concerns privately to the staff. I have no ulterior motives for being on this website. I am not here to study, research, or gather data on abuse survivors. I am a survivor seeking help after an abusive relationship, and my purpose for being here is to recover and help others recover.
